Job summary

Optus is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist – Observability and NMS to define strategy, governance, deployment, and evolution of Fault and Performance Monitoring across the network. You will lead a cross-functional team and drive operational assurance for Optus’ 4G and 5G transformations.

You will oversee roadmaps, governance, budgets, and partnerships with vendors, translating telemetry into actionable insights for engineering and executive leadership.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in fault and performance management and observability strategy.
• Advanced knowledge of 4G/5G networks, core, IMS, transport, and fixed networks.
• Proven ability to define enterprise-wide observability, governance and KPI frameworks.
• Experience leading large-scale technology deployments with governance and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience with OSS integration and analytics to drive insights.

Responsibilities

• Define and own fault and performance monitoring roadmaps across Wireless, Access, Core and fixed networks.
• Provide strategic leadership for observability programs including governance, delivery outcomes and budgets.
• Lead vendor relationships and tech partnerships to maximise value and innovation.
• Establish enterprise-wide observability, assurance and KPI frameworks to improve service health.
• Translate insights into strategic recommendations for engineering and exec leadership.
• Build and lead a high-performing observability team to support network transformation.
