Job summary

EVT Group’s Atura Blacktown seeks a Night Manager to lead overnight hotel operations and ensure exceptional guest service. You will manage check-in/check-out, handle guest feedback with tact, and perform precise night audits.

You will supervise the Night team, coordinate with Housekeeping, Reservations and Maintenance, and uphold security and safety standards in line with policies. This role is based at Atura Blacktown.

Qualifications

• Familiar with hotel night audit processes and computer systems.
• Ability to manage reservations, room rates and packages accurately.
• Experience supervising front-office or night teams and coordinating with housekeeping, reservations and maintenance.
• Strong guest-service orientation with tact in handling feedback and complaints.
• Knowledge of local attractions, services and events.
• Commitment to hotel policies, procedures and training sessions.

• Welcome guests, check in/out efficiently and respond to needs with tact.
• Perform the night audit thoroughly, posting revenue and identifying discrepancies.
• Follow cashiering policies and coordinate with accounts for audit documentation.
• Secure the hotel overnight and maintain a safe environment per WHS guidelines.
• Supervise the Night Manager team and on-shift staff and maintain clear communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the hotel manager overnight in the absence of the General Manager, Front Office Manager and Hotel Manager.
• Welcome, check in and check out guests with efficiency and friendliness, and respond to guest needs, comments and complaints with tact and urgency.
• Complete the night audit thoroughly and accurately, including posting all revenue and payments and identifying any discrepancies.
• Follow all cashiering policies and procedures, and liaise with accounts so the documentation supporting audit functions is complete.
• Secure the hotel overnight in line with existing procedures, and maintain a clean and safe environment in line with workplace health and safety guidelines.
• Supervise the Assistant Night Manager, Night Auditors, Night Porters and other non-managerial staff on shift, keeping communication open across the night team.

What You’ll Bring

• Full working knowledge of the hotel’s computer systems as they relate to night audit functions.
• Knowledge of current room rates and packages, and the ability to book, update, amend and file reservations accurately.
• Experience supervising a team and coordinating with Housekeeping, Reservations and Maintenance so rooms are ready for arriving guests.
• A genuine sense of care for guests, with the tact and diplomacy to handle feedback and complaints.
• Knowledge of the local area as a destination, including the services available and any special events taking place.
• A commitment to hotel policies, procedures and training, including participation in Front Office communication and training sessions.
