Job summary

Royal Automobile Club of Queensland is seeking a Network Principal to act as the technical authority for enterprise networking, shaping secure, resilient, and high-performing connectivity across RACQ. You will own roadmaps, standards, and lead complex design, engineering, implementation, and troubleshooting across Technology.

You will drive automation, network modernization, and guide strategic decisions while remaining hands-on in design and incident response.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in routing, switching, wireless, WAN and SD-WAN.
• Experience with data centre and hybrid cloud networking.
• Knowledge of network security, segmentation and zero-trust principles.
• Experience with automation, software-defined networking, infrastructure as code and scripting (Python/PowerShell).
• Strong architecture, service health and technical risk management capability.
• Proven experience leading complex incidents and influencing technical direction.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

About the role

You'll lead the evolution of RACQ's network services across complex design, engineering, implementation and troubleshooting. Working across Technology, you'll guide key decisions and embed consistent practices through standards and knowledge sharing.

You're an experienced network specialist who brings strategic thinking, sound judgement and a collaborative leadership style. You can simplify complex challenges, influence without direct authority and provide specialist support when needed.
