Transurban Brisbane seeks a Network Operator to monitor traffic through ITS, CCTV and road management platforms. You will coordinate with emergency services, field crews and internal teams to manage incidents and minimize disruption.

You will monitor tunnel environments, maintain safety-critical plant systems, and draft incident management plans while providing timely updates to stakeholders and the public.

Qualificações

• Experience in a monitoring centre, control room, or operational environment.
• Exposure to traffic control, emergency response, or incident management preferred.
• Current First Aid Certificate and OH&S Induction White Card are highly regarded.

About the roleWe’re seeking a Network Operator (Traffic Control Room) on a Fixed-term contract to work in our busy control room to redirect traffic flow, coordinate response teams, and relay critical info to keep our roads safe, all while remaining naturally composed and alert at all times.You’ll join an innovative team, who tirelessly monitor the flow of the traffic with an eagle eye and respond with lightning speed in the event of incidents, both big and small.As our Network Operator, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging and exciting work.12 months Fixed-term position, based in Clarence Road (QLD)Day-to-day, you will:Operate intelligent transport systems (ITS), including CCTV, AID, and road management platforms, to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow across open roads and tunnelsCoordinate with emergency services, field crews, and internal teams to manage incidents such as breakdowns, accidents, and hazards—minimising disruption and ensuring public safetyIncident Management and Traffic Management plans will become second nature to you, you will create these with ease to ensure our roads run more efficiently and safely when things don’t go to planMonitor and manage tunnel environmental systems (air quality, water levels) and operate key plant systems (including ventilation, drainage, and fire panels) to maintain safe infrastructureYour curious mind will drive you to think bigger, and find new ways to improve our processes, traffic management, and make recommendationsProvide accurate, real-time updates to stakeholders, media, and the public using digital platforms and variable message signs—ensuring transparency and informed travel decisionsUnderstand the importance of rigorous knowledge of traffic management policies, practices and procedures, including operational systemsMust be able to work across multiple assets as needed to meet business requirementsThis role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:Experience in a monitoring centre, control room, or operational environment—ideally with exposure to traffic control, emergency response, or incident managementTech-savvy and systems-focused—experience with (or a strong interest in learning) traffic management systems, OMCS, IOMCS, or ITS platforms is highly advantageousDriven, resilient and efficient, showing confidence and professionalism, no matter how challenging the situation isA current First Aid Certificate and OH&S Induction White Card are highly regarded (or a willingness to obtain them)Organised, efficient and decisive in in prioritising the tasks that count, all while juggling multiple tasksExperienced in writing reports and you know which important details to include so the operation runs smoothlyWillingness and capability to work a 24/7 rotating shift roster (which includes nights, weekends, and public holidays)If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.About TransurbanAt Transurban, we show up with an open mind and a focus on what matters.
