Job summary

A leading transport solutions company in Sydney is seeking a Network Operator to monitor traffic flow and respond to incidents. You will coordinate with emergency services and operate key systems while ensuring effective communication in high-pressure environments. The ideal candidate possesses strong decision-making skills and attention to detail. This is a casual 12-month position with full availability required, including weekends and public holidays.

  • Monitor traffic flow and respond to incidents using ITS, CCTV, and other systems.
  • Coordinate with emergency services and dispatch response crews.
  • Log incidents accurately and escalate issues as needed.
  • Communicate updates via Variable Message Signs and digital platforms

About the Role

This is a 12-month casual position, based in Sydney (various locations available). This role requires full availability, including weekends and public holidays, as the roads we manage operate 24/7.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor traffic flow and respond to incidents using ITS, CCTV, and other systems
  • Coordinate with emergency services and dispatch response crews
  • Operate key systems including ventilation, drainage, and fire panels
  • Communicate updates via Variable Message Signs and digital platforms
  • Log incidents accurately and escalate issues as needed
  • Support training, mentoring, and continuous improvement initiatives
Skills & Experience
  • Strong communication skills in high-pressure environments
  • Sound decision-making and situational awareness
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
  • Ability to complete structured training and assessments
  • Experience in traffic operations or emergency response coordination (preferred)
