Job summary

Ventia is seeking experienced Network Design Engineers to join its Telco team in Parramatta. This full-time role focuses on designing high-quality telecommunications networks and producing detailed design packages for fibre, microwave, DWDM, SDH and Ethernet platforms.

You will ensure design integrity from order through customer acceptance, support diverse site environments, and mentor teammates while contributing to Ventia Solutions. Parramatta facility, five days a week.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Telecommunications, Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Experience designing telecommunications networks across Enterprise, Core, Access or Mobile environments.
• Strong understanding of IP/MPLS networks, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS) and IPv4/IPv6.
• Experience using telecommunications design and provisioning systems such as Helix, Spatial Web, Netconfig or similar platforms.
• Ability to produce high‑quality technical documentation, network designs and engineering drawings.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and problem‑solving skills.
• Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP) or equivalent certifications are highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Design network elements, links, and services across Core and Access Transport Platforms.
• Produce detailed design packages including drawings, scopes of work, bills of materials, and completion records.
• Ensure design integrity from order acknowledgement through to customer acceptance.
• Support diverse site environments including mobile base stations, transmission hubs, data centres, and exchange facilities.
• Maintain strong compliance with engineering standards, WHS requirements, and customer guidelines.
• Contribute to reporting, forward planning, milestones, and alignment across customer systems.
• Mentor, train, and support team members while contributing to the growth of Ventia Solutions.

About The Role

You will be responsible for developing detailed network designs, engineering documentation, and technical artefacts that enable seamless delivery across a range of transport platforms. You will help shape the future of our fibre, microwave radio, DWDM, SDH, and Ethernet networks, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and high performance.
