Job summary

selectability is a not-for-profit charity serving regional Queensland. The Support Coordinator role focuses on assisting participants to understand and maximise their NDIS plans.

The position involves coordinating services, engaging with stakeholders, and empowering individuals to coordinate their supports for better outcomes in their community. A Certificate IV in Mental Health is desirable, with flexible, casual working arrangements in Cairns.

Qualifications

• Possess a working knowledge of the NDIS (desirable)
• Excellent communication skills
• Commitment to best practice
• Experience working in a team environment
• Ability to quickly and effectively engage recipients
• Ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities & individuals

Responsibilities

• Supporting and empowering participants to make their own choices as to how they want to lead their lives
• Coordinating a variety of services for participants to support them to live fulfilling and meaningful lives within the community
• Engaging with and managing participants key stakeholders (including government agencies, community and clinical service providers and families), ensuring that the supports and services are leveraged, not duplicated
• Working with participants to strengthen their ability to coordinate their own supports to live their best life
