Job summary

GHD is seeking an experienced Defence Environment Delivery Leader to provide national leadership across Australia’s environmental delivery for Defence projects. You will lead a geographically dispersed team, drive consistency, and ensure quality while applying strong commercial oversight.

You will collaborate with Defence clients, bring together best-in-class technical capability, and manage risks and opportunities with a focus on safety and governance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience in environmental and/or project environments, with demonstrated leadership capability.
• Proven delivery experience within the Defence sector and understanding of Defence policies, processes and ways of working.
• Experience leading and developing geographically dispersed teams.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills with clients, technical specialists and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to identify and manage project risks and opportunities; AGSVA security clearance (Baseline or higher) preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 1 week per month.
• Full-time appointment preferred; part-time arrangements can be considered.

• Provide national leadership across Defence environmental delivery, driving consistency, efficiency and quality across services and deliverables.
• Lead, coach and develop a geographically dispersed team to create a connected, high-performing national environment.
• Support Defence projects with environmental and contractual advice, bringing together technical capability from across GHD.
• Leverage business and digital systems to strengthen project delivery, governance, financial performance and planning.
• Promote a culture of safety and wellbeing while applying sound commercial judgement to manage project risks and opportunities.
