Job summary

GHD’s Defence Environment Delivery Leader role in Australia offers national leadership across a portfolio of Defence environmental projects. You will guide a geographically dispersed team, ensure consistency and quality of environmental deliverables, and provide expert environmental and contractual advice to Defence programs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in environmental and/or project environments with demonstrated leadership capability.
• Delivery experience within the Defence sector and a strong understanding of Defence policies, processes, requirements and ways of working.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing geographically dispersed teams, with the ability to build a cohesive and coordinated working environment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, technical specialists and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to identify and effectively manage project risks and opportunities, with an existing AGSVA Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a minimum Baseline clearance (Negative Vetting 1 preferred).
• Travel is a requirement of this position, approximately up to 1 week per month.
• A full-time appointment is preferred; however part-time arrangements can be considered.

• Providing national leadership across Defence environmental delivery, driving consistency, efficiency, resource capability needs and quality across our services and deliverables.
• Leading, coaching and developing a geographically dispersed team, creating a connected and high-performing national environment.
• Supporting Defence projects with environmental and contractual advice, bringing together the right technical expertise and capability from across GHD.
• Leveraging business and digital systems to strengthen project delivery, governance, financial performance, quality management and planning.
• Promoting a strong culture of safety and wellbeing while applying sound commercial judgement to proactively manage project risks and opportunities.
