Job summary

BHP is inviting graduates to join the 2028 Mining Graduate Program in Australia. You’ll dive into mine planning, field exposure, safety foundations and continuous improvement initiatives, working across disciplines to deliver safe and sustainable production.

You’ll gain hands-on experience from day one, with structured onboarding, guided learning paths and mentorship from leaders who are invested in helping you grow. Visa and relocation options are available as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduated within the past two years or due to graduate by end of 2027 with a Mining Engineering degree (or closely related discipline).
• International students with a valid visa are welcome to apply; by February 2028 you must hold a visa with no work restrictions.
• Meet the WA Quarry Managers ticket requirements if based in WA.

Responsibilities

• Mine planning and scheduling exposure across short- and long-term plans.
• Field time in-pit or underground to understand equipment and operations.
• Build safety foundations through hazard management and risk assessments.
• Support daily production through analysis and collaboration with operations.
• Contribute to technical projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with geology, processing and maintenance teams.
