Job summary

The 2028 BHP Mining Graduate Program invites graduates to rotate through the full mining value chain, from planning and scheduling to production support and continuous improvement. You’ll work on meaningful projects from day one, collaborating with geology, geotechnical, processing and maintenance teams to drive real outcomes.

You’ll have structured onboarding, a graduate cohort, mentoring and regular feedback as you build capability for a lifelong career in mining.

Qualifications

• Graduated within the past two years or due to graduate by end of 2027 with a Mining Engineering degree (or closely related discipline).
• International students with valid visa welcome; by February 2028, visa must have no work restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Mine Planning & Scheduling - Supporting short-term and understanding long-term mine plans.
• Field Time & Operational Exposure - Spending meaningful time in-pit or underground to understand equipment interactions and constraints.
• Safety & Risk Foundations - Building hazard management understanding and contributing to a safety culture.
• Operational & Production Support - Working with supervisors to understand daily operations and production outcomes.
• Technical Projects & Continuous Improvement - Assisting with improvement initiatives and adopting new technologies.
• Cross Functional Collaboration - Partnering with geology, geotechnical, processing, maintenance and operations teams.
