Job summary

BHP Mining is seeking graduates for the 2028 Mining Graduate Program in Australia. The program runs 24 months, offering hands-on experience across mine planning, field exposure, safety, and continuous improvement.

You’ll work on meaningful projects and alongside diverse teams, with potential FIFO or residential placements depending on discipline and location. The program emphasizes structured onboarding, guided learning paths, and mentorship from leaders passionate about developing your skills

Qualifications

• Graduates with mining or closely related degree; eligible if graduated in the past two years or by end of 2027.

Responsibilities

• Mine planning & scheduling: support short- and long-term plans, design pit layouts and translate schedules into production.
• Field time & operational exposure: spend time in-pit or underground to understand equipment interactions and constraints.
• Safety & risk foundations: build understanding of hazard management and risk assessments.
• Operational & production support: work with supervisors to understand daily operations and performance data.
• Technical projects & continuous improvement: assist improvement initiatives and adopt new technologies to optimise processes.
• Cross functional collaboration: partner with geology, geotechnical, processing, maintenance and operations teams.
