Job summary

BHP invites applications for the 2028 Mining Graduate Program. This 24-month program lets graduates join Australia’s largest company to plan, optimise and deliver mining operations while building capability through structured onboarding, guided learning paths, and mentorship.

You’ll gain exposure across the full mining value chain, with field time, safety training, and cross-functional collaboration across geology, processing, and operations.

Qualifications

• Graduated within the past two years or due to graduate by end of 2027 with a Mining Engineering degree
• International students with a valid visa are welcome to apply, by February 2028 visa with no work restrictions

Responsibilities

• Mine Planning & Scheduling – support short-term and understand long-term mine plans
• Field Time & Operational Exposure – spend meaningful time in-pit or underground to understand equipment interactions
• Safety & Risk Foundations – build understanding of hazard management and risk assessments
• Operational & Production Support – work with supervisors to understand daily operations and performance data
• Technical Projects & Continuous Improvement – assist with improvement initiatives and new technologies
• Cross Functional Collaboration – partner with geology, geotechnical, processing, maintenance and operations teams
