Barwon Health in Victoria is seeking an experienced roster and operations coordinator to lead end-to-end rostering for Junior Medical Staff. You will work within the organisational strategy to develop rosters that ensure safety, continuity, and efficient use of resources across the service.

The role focuses on managing day-to-day rostering, leave, relievers and locums, aligning with the VIC DiT Enterprise Agreement, and collaborating with clinical directors and unit heads.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in workforce coordination, rostering, and operational management within a healthcare or medical workforce environment.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of enterprise agreements, payroll processes, leave management, and workforce compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities, solve problems effectively, and respond to staffing issues in a fast-paced operational setting.
• Highly developed communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and build effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations, rostering, and shift coverage of Junior Medical Staff, ensuring compliance with the VIC DiT Enterprise Agreement and continuity of service delivery.
• Prepare, maintain, and coordinate medical workforce rosters, including leave management, roster changes, and effective utilisation of relievers and locums within allocated resources.
• Approve Junior Medical Staff timesheets and collaborate with Payroll, Medical Workforce, and Workforce Remuneration teams to ensure accurate and efficient employment and payroll processes.
• Participate in the after-hours medical workforce on-call roster, applying strong problem-solving and escalation skills to address staffing issues and maintain operational requirements.
