About the role

Endoview Gastroenterology & Specialists is seeking a dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our team in Burwood, NSW. This is a part-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering excellent patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our gastroenterology & specialist practice. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will be instrumental in creating a welcoming environment and managing the administrative demands of our busy clinic, directly contributing to the high standard of care we provide.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring they feel welcome and at ease
• Managing and booking endoscopy procedures for patients, including verifying personal and insurance information
• Scheduling and confirming appointments, and maintaining an accurate and organised appointment system
• Answering telephone enquiries and directing calls to appropriate staff members
• Processing patient payments and handling financial transactions accurately and confidentially
• Maintaining patient records and ensuring confidentiality in accordance with relevant healthcare regulations
• Assisting with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying and data entry
• Coordinating with clinical staff to ensure patient flow and optimal clinic efficiency
• Providing patients with information about procedures, waiting times and practice policies
• Supporting the team with general reception duties as required

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar healthcare administrative role
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, courteous demeanour
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• Proficiency with computer systems and medical practice management software (desirable)
• Ability to multitask effectively in a busy healthcare environment
• Knowledge of patient confidentiality requirements and health information management principles
• Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and data entry
• A compassionate approach to patient interaction and problem-solving
• Reliable and punctual attendance
• A current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one) is preferred
