Endoview Gastroenterology is seeking a dedicated Medical Receptionist in Burwood, NSW. This part-time role will handle front-desk duties, patient check-ins, scheduling, and payments, contributing to smooth clinic operations and high-quality patient care.

You'll wear many hats in a busy gastroenterology practice, requiring excellent communication, organisation, and confidentiality. Training provided; flexibility to balance work and personal commitments is valued.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar healthcare administrative role.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, courteous demeanour.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.
• Proficiency with computer systems and medical practice management software (desirable).
• Ability to multitask effectively in a busy healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of patient confidentiality requirements and health information management principles.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and data entry.
• A compassionate approach to patient interaction and problem-solving.
• Reliable and punctual attendance.
• A current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one) is preferred

Responsibilities

• Greeting patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring they feel welcome and at ease
• Managing and booking endoscopy procedures for patients, including verifying personal and insurance information
• Scheduling and confirming appointments, and maintaining an accurate and organised appointment system
• Answering telephone enquiries and directing calls to appropriate staff members
• Processing patient payments and handling financial transactions accurately and confidentially
• Maintaining patient records and ensuring confidentiality in accordance with relevant healthcare regulations
• Assisting with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying and data entry
• Coordinating with clinical staff to ensure patient flow and optimal clinic efficiency
• Providing patients with information about procedures, waiting times and practice policies
• Supporting the team with general reception duties as required
