Job summary

I-MED Radiology in Buderim Private Hospital is seeking a friendly Medical Receptionist to join our full-time team. You will be the first point of contact for patients, handling check-in, inquiries, and scheduling across the Hospital and Emergency Department.

Your responsibilities include greeting patients, guiding preparation for scans, processing billing (private, Medicare, DVA), and collaborating with clerical and clinical staff and referrers.

Qualifications

• Experience in medical reception roles.
• Knowledge of private insurers/Medicare billing advantageous.
• Strong written and spoken communication.
• Ability to work across multiple screens and systems.
• Experience with interventional bookings is desirable.

Responsibilities

Job description

Join our friendly team in Buderim Private Hospital as a full-time Medical Receptionist. This role operates from Monday to Friday, with shifts between the hours of 6.30am-9.00pm. Overtime shifts on Saturdays and Sundays are also available.

As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, playing an important role in creating a positive and professional patient experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Greeting patients warmly and assisting with check-in procedures.
• Answering emails and phone calls promptly and handling inquiries professionally.
• Advising patients of preparation prior to relevant scans.
• Billing procedures – private, Medicare, workers compensation, DVA, hospital billing and private health fund billings.
• Collaborating with clerical and technical staff, radiologists, and referrers.

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience in the medical industry, knowledge of medical imaging and/ or private insurers and Medicare billing would be highly advantageous.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with interventional bookings and procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, the clinic services both the Hospital and Emergency Department.
• Strong organisational abilities to manage appointments and patient flow.
• Relevant reception experience.
• Confidence working across multiple screens and systems.
