Job summary

South Coast Radiology is seeking a friendly Medical Receptionist to join our team across the Southern Hub (John Flynn Hospital, Tweed Heads and Nuclear Medicine Centre) or Northern Hub (Pindara Hospital and Benowa). This frontline role involves greeting patients, managing phones and appointments, and handling billing with a patient-focused approach.

You will support clinical teams, work across clinics, and enjoy training and development in a well-respected healthcare organisation on the Gold

Qualifications

• Experience in reception, healthcare, or customer-facing roles.
• Radiology experience is a bonus.
• Proven ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming and checking in patients.
• Answering phones and managing email enquiries.
• Booking and rescheduling appointments using Karisma RIS.
• Advising patients on preparation requirements.
• Quoting fees and processing payments.
• Handling DVA and third-party claims.
• Supporting clinical teams to ensure smooth patient care.

Your Day-to-Day:

As the first point of contact for patients, you'll play a key role in delivering a high standard of care and ensuring clinic operations run smoothly.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Welcoming and checking in patients

• Advising patients on preparation requirements

What You’ll Bring:

• A warm, professional, and approachable personality
• Proven experience in reception, healthcare, or customer-facing roles (radiology experience a bonus!)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to stay calm under pressure
