Job summary

Amtan Medical Centre on the Gold Coast is seeking a dedicated Practice Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of a busy GP clinic. You will lead administrative staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive efficiency to support clinicians and patient care.

This full-time role requires at least 2 years' experience in practice management, strong financial acumen, and proven ability to improve outcomes. Familiarity with Medicare, Workcover and private billing, plus Best Practice software, is

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a practice manager in a busy GP mixed billing practice.
• Strong understanding of medical practice operations, healthcare regulations, and industry best practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Proficient in using best practice management software, Hot Doc and other relevant technologies.
• Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and make decisions under pressure.
• Strong analytical and financial management skills.
• Proven track record of improving practice efficiency and patient satisfaction.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Compassionate and empathetic approach when dealing with patients.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow medical regulations and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the administrative and operational functions of the medical practice.
• Manage and lead the practice's support staff.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and standards.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve practice efficiency.
• Manage patient bookings, records, and other administrative tasks.
• Take an active lead in processing Medicare, DVA, Workcover and private billing.
• Accountable for the practice's financial and operational KPI's.
• Identify opportunities for growth and improvement within the practice.
