Job summary

ProFound People Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Brisbane to own the technical delivery of large-scale capital equipment projects from design through commissioning. You will translate customer requirements into manufacturable specifications working with the on-site workshop and international clients.

You will lead 3D modelling in Inventor and 2D drafting in AutoCAD, coordinate with suppliers, and monitor release schedules.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in a project engineering role within an OEM, design house or engineering consultancy.
• Hands-on design background using Inventor and AutoCAD, including design calculation experience.
• Strong communication skills, comfortable working with international customers including across language barriers.
• A practical, solutions-focused mindset and comfort working closely with a manufacturing workshop.

Responsibilities

• Sizing and selection of mechanical components including shafts, bearings and drive systems.
• Specification of process equipment and fluid handling systems, including pumps and valves.
• Specification of purchased components such as sensors and switches.
• Overseeing 3D modelling in Inventor and 2D drafting in AutoCAD for equipment and layout drawings.
• Monitoring design and drawing release schedules to keep projects on track.
• Supporting fabrication through to installation and commissioning, including occasional domestic and international travel for site reviews and customer meetings.

They operate a hands-on, design-for-manufacture environment with engineering working closely alongside an on-site workshop. The Role

As Senior Project Engineer, you will own the technical delivery of projects from initial sales handover through design coordination, manufacture, shipping, installation and commissioning. You will act as the key technical interface between international customers and the internal design team, translating often ambiguous customer requirements into clear specifications and manufacturable designs.

Responsibilities include:

• Sizing and selection of mechanical components including shafts, bearings and drive systems

What You Bring

• 15+ years experience in a project engineering capacity within an OEM, design house or engineering consultancy, not purely client-side maintenance or reliability


• Genuine hands-on design background using Inventor and AutoCAD, including design calculation experience


• Strong communication skills, comfortable working with international customers including across language barriers


• A practical, solutions-focused mindset and comfort working closely with a manufacturing workshop
