Job summary

FSP Oz Products on the Gold Coast is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (junior to experienced) to join a practical engineering and manufacturing team. You will work across design, modelling, drawings, and maintenance of production equipment.

This role offers hands-on development, exposure to real-world projects across design, production, and maintenance, and a supportive environment for junior engineers to grow.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong interest and ability in 3D modelling and CAD design.
• Practical, hands-on approach to engineering and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, products and systems.
• Create accurate 3D models, CAD designs and drawings.
• Prepare, update, and maintain engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Assist with design development, engineering calculations, and problem-solving.
• Work closely with manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are practical and suitable for manufacture.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machines and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs and adjustments as required.
• Assist with installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of machinery and equipment.
• Identify opportunities to improve machine reliability, safety, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Ensure engineering and maintenance work complies with relevant Australian standards and safety requirements.

MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER (Junior to Experienced)

This is a great opportunity for a Junior Mechanical Engineer, recent graduate, or experienced Mechanical Design Engineer looking to develop their career in a practical, hands-on engineering and manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be involved in mechanical design, 3D modelling, CAD drafting, engineering drawings, product development, manufacturing support, and maintenance of production equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, products, systems, and equipment
• Create accurate 3D models, CAD designs, and detailed engineering drawings
• Prepare, update, and maintain engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Assist with design development, engineering calculations, and problem-solving
