Job summary

Ventia, in partnership with the Australian Defence Force, is hiring a permanent full-time Fitter to join our Moorebank NSW facility. You will maintain Defence equipment, install, inspect, repair, modify, and recondition armaments, small engines, and marine gear.

You must be an Australian citizen with the ability to obtain a Defence clearance, hold a Certificate III as a Fitter and Turner, and possess a valid C class license.

Qualifications

• Australian citizen with ability to obtain Defence clearance.
• Trade qualified Fitter and Turner (Certificate III).
• Current driver's licence - C class.

Responsibilities

• Undertake maintenance on Defence equipment including installation, inspection, repairs, modification and reconditioning of military armaments and small engines.
• Operate machines to produce or modify parts and tools.
• Check quality of finished parts and assemble components.
• Provide technical advice to equipment operators.
• Maintain miscellaneous equipment including marine equipment.

As our Fitter, you will undertake maintenance on specialist Defence equipment. This includes installation, inspection, repairs, modification and reconditioning of military armaments, small engines, and perform general engineering tasks. Furthermore you'll:

• Examine detailed specifications to determine requirements of the job.
• Operate machines to produce or modify required parts or tools.
• Check quality of finished parts.
• Fit and assemble parts.
• Providing technical advice to equipment operators.
• Repair and maintain miscellaneous equipment including small engines, general service, and marine equipment.

To be successful:

• You must be an Australian Citizen and be able to obtain an Australian Defence Clearance.
• Must be a trade qualified Fitter and Turner (Certificate III).
• Hold a current Drivers Licence - C Class.
