Job summary

Ventia ... (the Defence Maintenance Contract team) is seeking a Fitter at Puckapunyal, VIC. You will inspect, repair and recondition military hardware, providing embedded support and coordinating with Defence training activities.

The role is full-time, 38 hours per week, with Fridays finishing at 12 pm. MR/HR licenses are desirable, and relocation assistance may be available. Training and upskilling opportunities are provided by Defence-recognised programmes.

• Must hold a recognised Fitter and Turner Trade
• Strong aptitude for technology and computer-based systems
• Physically fit and able to perform hands-on work

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance on military hardware and Defence armaments
• Safely operate machinery to repair, manufacture or modify parts
• Certify plant and equipment as serviceable and fit for purpose
• Provide occasional support to Defence Bases across the state; travel, accommodation and meals are provided

An exciting opportunity for a Fitter to join our fun, collaborative, and hardworking Defence Maintenance Contract team based at Puckapunyal, VIC.

About The Role

As a Fitter, you will use your highly detailed workmanship to inspect, repair, and recondition military hardware. It will be your responsibility to provide direct embedded support and teamwork with Defence and Defence training activities to ensure hardware is functional and training objectives are achieved.

• Perform maintenance, servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance on military hardware and Defence armaments
• Safely operate machinery to repair, manufacture or modify required parts
• Certify plant and equipment as serviceable and fit for purpose
• Provide occasional support to various Defence Bases across the state assisting with Armory maintenance. All travel, accommodation and Food paid for!

About You

• Possess a recognised Fitter and Turner Trade or equivalent
• Strong aptitude for technology and computer-based systems
• MR or HR License - Desirable
• Physically fit and enjoy hands-on work
• Must be an Australian citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance
