Job summary

Metro Assist in Concord, NSW is seeking a part-time Meals on Wheels Service Lead to oversee the Inner West Meals on Wheels service. You will lead the service from our Concord office, with three direct reports, reporting to the Head of Multicultural and Essential Services.

You will drive service quality, foster partnerships with community organisations and health providers, pursue growth opportunities, and ensure CHSP funding standards and governance are met to deliver client-centred outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading community, aged care or human services programs and teams.
• Track record of improving service performance and outcomes using data and client feedback.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and referral pathway development.
• Experience managing budgets and funded service delivery within delegated authority.
• Aged care sector knowledge including CHSP and My Aged Care is highly regarded.

• Holding accountability for service performance, utilisation, client outcomes and quality indicators, and driving continuous improvement
• Providing leadership, supervision and development to your team, and fostering a positive, accountable team culture
• Building and strengthening referral pathways and partnerships with community organisations, health providers and aged care services
• Identifying and pursuing opportunities for service growth, diversification and improved sustainability, including contributing to funding submissions and business cases
• Representing the service at relevant forums and networks, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, carers, volunteers and referral partners
• Monitoring service expenditure and working with the Finance team on budget development and forecasting, within approved budgets
• Ensuring services comply with CHSP funding requirements, aged care legislation, quality standards and sector reforms

About us

Community Action for Better Living (CABL) delivers the Inner West Meals on Wheels service as the approved provider of this Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) funded service. CABL operates under Stepwise Community Services (formerly Metro Assist and CABL), which works with individuals, families and communities of diverse backgrounds across Sydney to build resilience and independence.

About the role

As Meals on Wheels Service Lead, you will be accountable for the overall performance, quality, sustainability, growth and continuous improvement of the Inner West Meals on Wheels service. You'll provide strategic and operational leadership to a small team, drive service quality and performance, foster partnerships and community engagement, and ensure the service remains responsive to client needs, organisational priorities and aged care sector requirements.

Based at our Concord office and reporting to the Head of Multicultural and Essential Services, you'll lead three direct reports: a Client Engagement Officer, Communications Assistant and Operations Coordinator, with day-to-day operational coordination delegated to the Operations Coordinator, freeing you to focus on service leadership, quality oversight, stakeholder engagement and service growth.

What we're looking for

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Community Services, Human Services, Aged Care, Health, Management or a related discipline
• Demonstrated experience leading and managing community, aged care or human services programs and teams
• A track record of driving service performance, utilisation and continuous improvement using data and client feedback
• Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills, with experience developing referral pathways
• Experience managing budgets, resources and funded service delivery within delegated authority
• Aged care sector experience including CHSP-funded services and knowledge of My Aged Care, the Aged Care Act 2024 and Aged Care Quality Standards, highly regarded
• A current driver licence, and the ability to obtain a Working with Children Check and National Police Check
