Job summary

SeaLink South East Queensland is seeking a proactive HSE Assistant to join our maritime safety team. You’ll learn under experienced leaders and contribute to our Safety Management Systems across operations.

Ideal candidates have some HSE administration experience or a WHS qualification, and are organized with strong communication skills. This role offers development in WHS and marine safety within a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Certifications or training in WHS are preferred but not required.
• Experience in administrative coordination within HSE is advantageous.
• Familiarity with WHS legislation and marine safety is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve HSE Safety Management Systems.
• Promote a safe working environment and assist with risk management processes.
• Help conduct incident investigations and follow up on corrective actions.
• Participate in site visits, inspections, risk assessments and audits.
• Assist with monitoring training needs and emergency drills.
• Stay informed on WHS, Environmental, and Marine legislation.
• Help administer the online safety management system.
• Be an active member of the HSE Committee and contribute to safety initiatives.
