Job summary

SeaLink SEQ in Australia is seeking an enthusiastic HSE Assistant to support safety management across maritime operations. You’ll work with experienced leaders, contribute to Safety Management Systems, and help foster a safe, compliant workplace.

The role suits someone with WHS qualifications or hands-on safety administration, risk assessments, incident investigations and training coordination. This is a mentoring environment that values safety and career growth.

Qualifications

• Experience with HSE practices in admin, coordination, internships or entry-level roles.
• Recently completed a Certificate IV or Diploma in WHS (preferred but not essential).
• Organised, detail oriented and confident working with teams.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Eager to learn and grow in the HSE field.
• Training in Incident Investigation (preferred).
• Familiar with WHS and Environmental legislation; Marine Knowledge is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance and improvement of HSE Safety Management Systems.
• Promote a safe working environment and assist with risk management processes.
• Assist with incident investigations and follow up on corrective actions.
• Participate in site visits, inspections, risk assessments, and audits.
• Assist with monitoring training needs and emergency preparedness drills.
• Stay informed on WHS, Environmental and Marine legislation.
• Help administer the online safety management system.
• Be an active member of the HSE Committee and contribute to safety initiatives.

SeaLink SEQ is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic HSE Assistant to join our team. You’ll be supported by experienced leaders and gain exposure to a wide range of safety and compliance activities across our operations.

About the Role

As our HSE Assistant, you’ll play a key role in helping maintain a safe and compliant workplace. You’ll work closely with experienced leaders, crew, and stakeholders to learn and contribute to the implementation of our Safety Management Systems.

What You’ll Do

• Support the maintenance and improvement of HSE Safety Management Systems

• Help conduct incident investigations and follow up on corrective actions
• Participate in site visits, inspections, risk assessments, and audits

About You

We’re looking for someone who:
