Job summary

Centrurion Transport in Mackay is seeking an experienced Senior HSEQ Advisor to strengthen our safety culture across operations. You will partner with leaders and workers to promote proactive HSEQ practices and maintain high standards of safety, compliance and environmental responsibility.

You will provide practical coaching, lead incident investigations, conduct audits and trainings, and drive continuous improvement through risk assessments, reports and KPI reviews in a busy transport

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a generalist HSEQ role.
• Strong experience leading incident investigations.
• Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, Chain of Responsibility, road safety and environmental requirements.
• Strong communication and report writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement HSEQ strategic and tactical plans.
• Coach operational teams on HSEQ processes and tools.
• Lead workplace inspections and internal audits.
• Conduct and support incident investigations.
• Develop HSE alerts and share learnings for improvement.
• Analyse HSEQ trends and report KPIs.

Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Senior HSEQ Advisor to join our Mackay team and play a key role in strengthening our safety culture, supporting operational teams and driving continuous improvement across HSEQ.

The Opportunity

As a Senior HSEQ Advisor, you’ll work closely with operational leaders and workers to promote a proactive safety culture and ensure HSEQ standards are consistently maintained.

You’ll provide practical advice, coaching and support across a range of HSEQ initiatives, while identifying opportunities to improve safety performance, compliance and operational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of HSEQ strategic and tactical plans.
• Coach and mentor operational teams on HSEQ processes, tools and responsibilities.
• Support consultation and participation processes across the business.
• Develop and review risk assessments, procedures and Safe Work Procedures with Operations.
• Conduct workplace inspections and internal audits, supporting external audits where required.
• Deliver HSEQ training and support teams with tools including risk assessments and Permit to Work.
• Lead critical incident investigations and support other incident investigations as required.
• Develop HSE Alerts and share key learnings to drive continuous improvement.
• Analyse HSEQ trends and statistics and report on key performance indicators.
• Support initiatives focused on preventing workplace injuries, illness and environmental incidents.
• Attend HSEQ, toolbox and customer meetings as required.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced HSEQ professional who can build strong relationships across operational environments and provide practical, solutions-focused advice.

You will ideally have:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a generalist HSEQ role, preferably within transport or logistics.
• Strong experience conducting and leading incident investigations.
• Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, Chain of Responsibility, road safety and environmental requirements.
• Strong communication and report writing skills.
