Job summary

Gallagher Australia is seeking an experienced Account Manager for its Marine, Transport & Logistics team. You will manage a significant portfolio of marine and commercial clients, deliver tailored risk and insurance solutions, and negotiate with local and international insurers.

Working with a seasoned team, you will build strong client relationships, drive renewal strategies, identify opportunities for portfolio growth, and mentor junior staff while upholding Gallagher's values.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in insurance broking or account management.
• Experience managing mid-market to large commercial or marine clients.
• Strong technical insurance knowledge and a client-focused approach.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality service outcomes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to develop business opportunities and contribute to portfolio growth.
• Tier 1 Insurance Broking qualification (or equivalent).
• Marine insurance experience preferred but not essential for candidates with strong commercial broking backgrounds and a desire to specialise.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of marine, transport, logistics and commercial clients.
• Coordinate the end-to-end renewal process, including strategy meetings, market engagement, reporting, policy amendments and placements.
• Provide informed risk advice and develop tailored insurance solutions that align with clients' operational and commercial objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, underwriting agencies and key industry stakeholders.
• Assist in the development of new business opportunities and support growth initiatives across the portfolio.
• Manage insurer negotiations to achieve optimal coverage and commercial outcomes for clients.
• Monitor and manage debtor performance and portfolio profitability.
• Mentor and support junior team members while contributing to a collaborative team culture.
• Act as a Gallagher brand ambassador within the marine and transport industry.
