Job summary

Tungsten Mining is seeking an experienced Planning & Mine Technical Services Manager to lead our mine planning, geology, resource and reserve governance, geotechnical, hydrogeological and survey functions. The role is based onsite at the Watershed Project, 130km north of Cairns, on a 14:14 FIFO or DIDO roster from the East Coast.

Reporting to the COO, you will drive Life of Mine planning and strategic studies, build a high-performing technical services team and partner with executives to deliver

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Mining Engineering or Geology.
• First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency.
• Site Senior Executive appointment under the Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999 (Qld) is highly desirable.
• Eighteen plus years' experience in open pit hard rock mining with significant technical leadership experience.
• Proven success delivering Resource and Reserve reporting, Life of Mine planning and major study work (PFS/DFS).
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence executives, boards and investors.
• Passion for building capability, technical governance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead Life of Mine planning, mine scheduling and optimisation across multiple assets.
• Own Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve governance, reporting and JORC compliance.
• Provide strategic technical input into studies, project development and investment decisions.
• Drive geological modelling, resource growth and exploration programs.
• Oversee geotechnical, hydrogeological, grade control and reconciliation performance.
• Build and mentor a high-performing technical services team.
• Partner with operations, projects and executive leadership to deliver safe, executable and value-driven mine plans.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer and working onsite at our Watershed Project located 130kms North of Cairns on a 14:14 FIFO or DIDO roster from the East Coast, this is a pivotal leadership role responsible for ensuring the technical integrity, performance and long-term value of our operations. Additional key role responsibilities will include the following.

• Lead Life of Mine planning, mine scheduling and optimisation across multiple assets.
• Own Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve governance, reporting and JORC compliance.
• Provide strategic technical input into studies, project development and investment decisions.

About You

As a respected mining leader with extensive experience across mine planning, technical services and resource management, you will bring a proven ability to align technical excellence with commercial outcomes to drive successful projects.

• First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency
• 18+ years' experience in open pit hard rock mining, with significant technical leadership experience.
