Job summary

Glencore's Collinsville Open Cut in North Queensland seeks an experienced Mining Engineer - Mid-Term Planning to develop and optimise mid-term plans, using Maptek Vulcan and SPRY for monthly scheduling.

You will lead with strong analytical and stakeholder engagement, mentoring others, and contribute to safe, efficient operations with a focus on resource maximisation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• Experience in open cut coal mine planning.
• Proficient in mine planning software.

Responsibilities

• Drive the development and optimisation of mid-term plans.
• Develop safe and robust stage plans using Maptek Vulcan (Similar software experience is valued).
• Assist with monthly scheduling using SPRY. Opportunity to grow SPRY skills.
• EOM reporting and reconciliation.
• Ensure alignment with business objectives, operational efficiency and resource maximisation.

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer we are recruiting for an experienced Mining Engineer - Mid-Term Planning to join Technical Services team.

With a long life of mine, there are numerous opportunities for a medium-term engineer to deliver significant value, gain exposure to the diverse challenges/opportunities, work closely with multiple stakeholders and fast-track one’s own skill development.

In this role, you will:

• Drive the development and optimisation of mid-term plans.
• Develop safe and robust stage plans using Maptek Vulcan (Similar software experience is valued)
• Assist with monthly scheduling using SPRY. Opportunity to grow and develop SPRY skills
• EOM reporting and reconciliation
• Ensure alignment with business objectives, operational efficiency and resource maximisation

About You:

• Degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• Experience in open cut coal mine planning.
• Proficient in mine planning software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience is a plus.
