Ideal applicants are highly organised with leadership experience, able to coordinate multiple jobs, coach team members and drive operational efficiency during busy periods.

Are you highly organised, confident leading a team and experienced in insurance repairs, restoration or make-safe works?

We are looking for an experienced Make Safe Team Leader to join a well-established insurance repair and building business on the Sunshine Coast.

This is a key leadership position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can confidently coordinate multiple jobs and priorities, and genuinely enjoys leading people.

You’ll oversee the day-to-day Make Safe function, coordinating field teams, subcontractors and urgent works while ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently and within insurer requirements.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for:

• Leading, supporting and coordinating the Make Safe team
• Managing the allocation and scheduling of Make Safe jobs
• Prioritising urgent works based on risk, safety and insurer timeframes
• Coordinating trades, restorers, field technicians and subcontractors
• Monitoring jobs from initial response through to completion and handover
• Liaising with insurers, loss adjusters, customers and internal teams
• Reviewing Make Safe scopes, costs and contractor invoices
• Monitoring SLAs, response times, job progress and quality
• Ensuring accurate photos, reports, documentation and job updates are completed
• Managing supplier and subcontractor performance
• Supporting WHS compliance and safe work practices
• Coaching and developing team members
• Helping improve systems, processes and operational efficiencies
• Assisting with CAT/storm response and high-volume periods when required

About You

We’re looking for someone who is organised, confident and comfortable taking ownership.

Ideally, you will have experience within:

• Insurance building repairs
• Make Safe / emergency response
• Restoration
• Reactive maintenance
• Building or construction coordination
• Field team or subcontractor management

You’ll need to be someone who can keep a lot of moving parts organised without becoming overwhelmed.

You’ll also have:

• Strong leadership skills and confidence managing a team
• Excellent scheduling and coordination abilities
• The ability to prioritise quickly when urgent jobs come through
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A practical understanding of building and construction
• Experience dealing with trades and subcontractors
• Good commercial awareness around costs, scopes and invoicing
• Strong computer and job management system skills
• A calm, solutions-focused approach when things get busy

Experience dealing directly with insurers, loss adjusters, strata managers or insurance repair stakeholders would be highly regarded.

A trade or building/construction background is advantageous, along with a White Card and relevant industry tickets.
