Job summary

Blackbook Executive Pty is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Fitter to service a semi-automated distribution facility in Sydney. You will perform preventative maintenance, repair breakdowns, and support ongoing automation projects within a stable DC operation.

Reporting to the Site Maintenance Manager, you’ll work with conveyors, packaging machinery and AMRs, applying your MIG/STICK welding skills and mechanical expertise to minimise downtime and improve reliability.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade.
• Experience as a Maintenance Fitter in FMCG/manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Good knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Proactive, hands-on approach with ability to work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs across site equipment.
• Maintain conveyors, packaging machinery, MHE and AMRs.
• Diagnose mechanical faults in hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Troubleshoot HMI-controlled equipment and support automated operations.
• Fabricate and modify components using MIG and Stick welding.
• Take the lead when required and resolve operational issues.

Join a stable DC operation as a Maintenance Fitter, working with automated equipment and conveyors, with a $134K package and room to grow.

Maintenance Fitter

Join a well-established distribution operation where you’ll play a key role in maintaining a semi-automated facility. Working alongside an experienced maintenance team and reporting to the Site Maintenance Manager, you’ll be responsible for keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently, minimising downtime and supporting continuous improvement.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on maintenance role offering a mix of mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance and exposure to modern automated equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs across site equipment.
• Maintaining conveyors, packaging machinery, MHE and automated mobile robots (AMRs).
• Diagnosing mechanical faults across hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Troubleshooting HMI-controlled equipment and supporting automated operations.
• Fabricating and modifying components using MIG and Stick welding.
• Taking the lead when required and using your initiative to resolve operational issues.

What You’ll Bring

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade.
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Fitter within FMCG, manufacturing or an industrial environment.
