Job summary

Blackbook Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Fitter for a stable distribution centre in Sydney. You’ll own preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs across site equipment, work with conveyors, packaging machinery, MHE and AMRs, and apply hydraulic and pneumatic fault-finding skills.

Reporting to the Site Maintenance Manager, you’ll fabricate and modify components with MIG and Stick welding and lead when required, with a 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm shift, Monday to Friday, and a $123,200

Qualifications

• Experience as a Maintenance Fitter in FMCG, manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and fault-finding capabilities.
• Solid knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Own preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs across site equipment.
• Get hands-on with conveyors, packaging machinery, MHE and AMRs.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems and support automated operations.
• Fabricate and modify components using MIG and Stick welding.
• Lead when required and show initiative as part of the maintenance team.

Job description

Join a stable DC operation as a Maintenance Fitter, working with automated equipment and conveyors, with a $123K package and room to grow.

Join a well-established operation where your mechanical expertise will keep a semi-automated distribution facility running at its best. This is a hands-on role offering variety, modern automation, technical challenges. Working alongside an established maintenance team and reporting to the Site Maintenance Manager, you’ll play a key role in keeping equipment running safely, minimising downtime and driving continuous improvement across the facility.

The Opportunity

• Own preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs across site equipment.
• Get hands-on with conveyors, packaging machinery, MHE and automated mobile robots (AMRs).
• Put your mechanical fault-finding skills to work across hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Troubleshoot HMI-controlled equipment and support automated operations.
• Fabricate and modify components using MIG and Stick welding.
• Take the lead when required, with opportunities to showcase your initiative and leadership skills.

What You’ll Bring

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade.
• Experience as a Maintenance Fitter in FMCG, manufacturing or an industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and fault-finding capabilities.
• Solid knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work autonomously.
• EWP licence and Working at Heights training.
