Job summary

Elite Staffing Solutions is recruiting a Maintenance Fitter for the AM & Afternoon shifts in Clayton South. You will perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot and repair machinery, and support safe, efficient continuous production in a manufacturing environment focused on reliability and quality.

Reporting to the Reliability & Maintenance Manager, you will carry out planned maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and communicate updates across shifts while applying TPM concepts to minimise

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant maintenance experience in FMCG, food, dairy, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive approach to preventative maintenance and equipment reliability.
• Experience applying TPM principles in a production environment.
• Hands-on experience using MEX CMMS or equivalent maintenance management system.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make sound decisions when resolving equipment issues.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with production personnel.
• Commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative and planned maintenance on production machinery and equipment.

• Conduct fault-finding and troubleshooting to identify mechanical issues.
• Complete and update maintenance work orders using MEX CMMS or equivalent system.

• Apply TPM principles and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow WHS procedures, GMP requirements, and quality standards.
• Provide clear maintenance updates for shift handovers.

About the Role Reporting to the Reliability & Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance, responding to equipment breakdowns, and troubleshooting machinery to support safe, efficient, and continuous production.

Working closely with production and maintenance teams, you will play an important role in minimising downtime, improving equipment reliability, and ensuring maintenance activities meet safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative and planned maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnose faults, and carry out repairs to minimise production downtime.
• Conduct fault-finding and troubleshooting to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
• Complete and update maintenance work orders using MEX CMMS or an equivalent maintenance management system.
• Identify, report, and communicate unresolved equipment issues to the relevant maintenance personnel.
• Work collaboratively with production supervisors, team leaders, and operators to prioritise maintenance requirements.
• Apply Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements, and quality standards.
• Communicate maintenance updates effectively to ensure a smooth handover between shifts.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• 3-5 years of relevant maintenance experience, ideally within the FMCG, food, dairy, or pharmaceutical manufacturing industries.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and equipment reliability.
• Experience applying TPM principles within a production environment.
• Hands-on experience using MEX CMMS or an equivalent maintenance management system.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade.
