Job summary

Visy Group in Melbourne’s Reservoir Board Plant is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter for a full-time, permanent role. The position offers a day shift (6:00am–1:30pm) with overtime, and a competitive hourly rate of AU$49.80.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot breakdowns, uphold safety, support lean manufacturing, and mentor apprentices while contributing to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with production teams.
• Troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance skills.
• Passion for the trade and a proactive attitude toward safety.

Responsibilities

• Work with the maintenance team on routine tasks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve breakdowns for production machinery.
• Maintain a strong safety mindset and follow policies.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
• Mentor apprentices in their development.

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our Reservoir Board Plant. This is a full-time permanent role:

• Day Shift Monday to Friday
• 35h a week: 6am to 1.30pm plus overtime
• Rate: $49.8ph

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll play a role in keeping our plant running smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Working alongside the maintenance team to complete routine maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshooting and resolving breakdowns for production machinery.
• Strong safety mindset and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing.
• Guidance and mentoring apprentices in their development.
