Role details:
We’re seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our West Croydon Glass Plant. This is a full-time permanent role on a day shift 7am – 3.30pm, working a 9-day fortnight.Working in the Production Maintenance Department and reporting to the Production Maintenance Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring our production can run smoothly and efficiently.

What you’ll do:

• Perform mechanical repairs, routine maintenance, and respond to breakdowns.
• Diagnose faults and problem‑solve independently.
• Assist with machine set up for Job Changeover process.
• Working with the production & manufacturing teams to resolve issues with minimal downtime.
• Contribute to project work, including installation and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
• Further to this, you may be required to assist in general plant maintenance duties to support the wider Plant Reliability Team.

What you’ll bring:

• Mechanical Fitter trade qualifications with experience in an industrial environment, preferably fast‑paced and automated.
• Meticulous attention to detail and precision.
• Good hand eye coordination and ability to solve problems.
• Strong experience in preventative and breakdown maintenance in manufacturing environments.
• Ability to think outside the box when resolving breakdowns and working autonomously.
• A proactive attitude and a commitment to safety.
