Job summary

Visy in New South Wales, Sydney, seeks a mechanical maintenance technician to keep our packaging plant running smoothly and safely. You will install and maintain mechanical components, diagnose faults in pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and perform routine tests while responding to breakdowns to minimise downtime.

Working with production and engineering teams, you will use SAP to collect and analyse maintenance data, identify hazards, and uphold high safety standards across the site.

Qualifications

• Mechanical trade qualification with FMCG experience preferred.
• Experience in preventative and breakdown maintenance.
• Strong diagnostics in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Collaborates with production and engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Proactive attitude and commitment to safety.
• SAP experience is advantageous.

Role details:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our plant running smoothly and safely.

What you’ll do:

• Install and maintain mechanical components and systems.
• Diagnosing faults on pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Perform routine mechanical tests and attend breakdowns.
• Diagnose and fix problems on a variety of equipment throughout the plant, including motors, gearboxes, baggers, palletisers, extrusion and injection moulding.
• Proactive approach in reporting and identifying hazards.
• Utilise SAP for data collection and analysis of maintenance information.

What you’ll bring:

• Mechanical trade qualification with experience in FMCG environment beneficial
• Strong experience in preventative and breakdown maintenance in manufacturing environments
• Skills in hydraulic and pneumatic diagnostics, fault finding and control systems
• Working alongside production and engineering team to resolve issues
• A proactive attitude and a commitment to safety
• SAP proficiency an advantage
