Could you be our next Machine Operator?
Based at a busysteel manufacturing sitenear Corbould Park, these hands-on production roles involve cutting, bending and preparing steel.
You'll join an organised operation with established safety procedures, digital production systems and experienced people to learn from. Your work will help turn raw steel into accurately finished products, ready for the next stage of construction.
We're currently looking fornight-shift operators. We're also looking forafternoon-shift operators with previous leadership experience, who can learn the operation and develop towards running the afternoon shift. Steel experience is valuable, but training is available for people with practical ability, reliable work habits and a willingness to learn.
$35-$38 per hour is the starting band discussed for general operators, including suitable candidates who need training. $42 per hour may be considered for candidates who bring demonstrated steel processing, relevant machine operation and crane capability. Your experience and ability to contribute safely will be assessed, with your starting rate confirmed before commencement.
The afternoon and night rates shown already include the applicable shift loading. Day-shift rates apply while training on days.
All new operators begin on day shift, 5:00AM-1:00PM, so they can train with the experienced team before moving to afternoon or night shift. Training generally takes around two to four weeks, depending on experience and competency sign-offs.
This is active work in a steel manufacturing environment, with noise, heat and repetitive tasks. You'll need to stay attentive, follow the process and ask when something is unclear. Overtime may be limited during the initial training period.
