Job summary

Frontline Human Resources is seeking an experienced Machine Operator for the steel industry in Sydney's Wetherill Park site. This role offers AM and PM shifts (6am–2pm, 2pm–10pm) with an hourly wage of $39–$47, pending experience, and potential for full-time employment for the right candidate.

You will operate and monitor production machinery, set up equipment, and perform routine checks while following safety procedures in a health-conscious workplace. Immediate starts available.

The Role

FHR currently have multiple opportunities for an experienced Machine Operator to join our client that specialises in the Steel industry. This opportunity is located in Wetherill Park in Sydney and we have immediate starts available for the candidates who're successful in their application for these positions.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production machinery to manufacture steel reinforcing products in line with production schedules and quality standards.
• Set up machinery, adjust operating settings and perform routine equipment checks to ensure efficient production.
• Operate gantry and overhead cranes to safely lift, move and transport steel materials across the site, following all safety procedures and load-handling requirements.
• Load raw materials into machinery and safely handle finished steel products ready for storage or dispatch.
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure products meet specifications and report any defects or equipment issues to supervisors.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following workplace health and safety procedures and assisting with general factory duties.

Skills & Experience

• Experience in building materials, manufacturing, warehousing, or production (e.g. timber yards, concrete plants, steel suppliers, roofing, hardware distribution)
• Transferable skills such as machine operation, material handling, or production work
• A can-do attitude - willing to learn, take direction, and stay productive
• Forklift (LF) and/or crane experience (advantageous)
• Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work
• Reliable and consistent - someone the team can depend on
