Job summary

MacKellar Group is seeking a tradesperson for a permanent maintenance role on a 7/7 rotating roster (day shift initially) in regional Queensland. You will repair and maintain mining equipment and related assets on a long-term project with a strong focus on safety and reliability.

The role requires a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, with High Risk Work Licences desirable and a valid Queensland Driver Licence. Relocation considerations apply for regional work sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in Open Cut Coal mining is preferred.
• High Risk Work Licences are highly desirable.
• Current Standard 11 and CBM, or willingness to obtain.
• Valid Queensland Driver Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain ancillary equipment (generators, lighting towers, light vehicles, forklifts, and related assets).
• Fault finding and troubleshooting across scheduled and preventative maintenance.
• Ensure planned maintenance is completed within timeframes and cost requirements.
• Work autonomously while following directions from supervisors.
• Identify and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

About the Role

This is a permanent position within our maintenance team, working a 7/7 rotating roster (currently day shift only, with flexibility to transition to day/night as operational requirements change).

About You

To be successful in this role, you will haveexperience in Open Cut Coal mining, along with:

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an industry-equivalent qualification
• High Risk Work Licences (highly desirable)
• Current Standard 11 and CBM, or willingness to obtain
• A valid Queensland Driver Licence
