Job summary

MacKellar is hiring a Tyre Fitter for Carmichael Mine operations on a 7/7 rotating roster. The role covers servicing heavy earthmoving tyres and wheel assemblies across our fleet, with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

We offer a 7/7 roster, permanent employment, meals and camp accommodation, gym facilities, PPE, and FREE FIFO flights from Rockhampton or Townsville. Hubs in Rockhampton and Townsville welcome regional Queensland applicants.

Qualifications

• Significant experience fitting heavy earthmoving/off-the-road tyres.
• Current AURKTJ011 certification for tyre work.
• Current AURKTJ012 certification for wheel/rim assemblies.
• RIIMPO208F operates support equipment.
• RIISAM202E isolates and accesses plant.
• RIISAM301F tests vehicle/equipment functions.
• Current Queensland Coal Board Medical or willing to obtain.
• Current Standard 11 or willing to obtain.
• Strong commitment to safety.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out tyre rotations, pressure checks and tyre inspections.
• Removing and fitting heavy earthmoving tyres, wheels and rims.
• Recording tyre usage and maintenance information accurately.
• Conducting tyre and wheel inspections per site requirements.
• Working independently while following procedures.
• Contributing to continuous improvement and safety.

About the Role

As a Tyre Fitter, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient servicing of heavy earthmoving tyres and wheel assemblies across our mining fleet.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out tyre rotations, pressure checks and tyre inspections
• Removing and fitting heavy earthmoving tyres, wheels and rim assemblies
• Recording tyre usage and maintenance information accurately
• Conducting tyre and wheel inspections in accordance with site requirements
• Working independently while following direction and established procedures
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and contributing to practical solutions
• Maintaining a strong safety culture and ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently
