Job summary

MacKellar Group in Queensland is seeking a tradesperson for a permanent maintenance role on a 7/7 rotating roster (day shift now, with potential to transition to night shift as required). You will repair and service ancillary mining equipment such as generators, lighting towers, light vehicles and forklifts.

You will perform fault finding, preventive maintenance, and ensure work is completed on time and within cost targets, while working autonomously under supervision and contributing to

Qualifications

• Experience in Open Cut Coal mining on long-term projects.
• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
• High Risk Work Licences are highly desirable.
• Current Standard 11 and CBM, or willingness to obtain.
• Valid Queensland Driver Licence.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain ancillary equipment including generators and lighting towers.
• Fault finding and troubleshooting during scheduled maintenance.
• Ensure planned maintenance is completed within timeframes and cost targets.
• Work autonomously under supervision and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

About the Role

This is a permanent position within our maintenance team, working a 7/7 rotating roster (currently day shift only, with flexibility to transition to day/night as operational requirements change).
Key responsibilities include:

• Repair and maintenance of ancillary equipment, including generators, lighting towers, light vehicles, forklifts, and related assets
• Fault finding and troubleshooting across scheduled and preventative maintenance activities
• Ensuring planned maintenance is completed within allocated timeframes and cost requirements
• Working autonomously while following direction from supervisors
• Identifying and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the team

About You

To be successful in this role, you will haveexperience in Open Cut Coal mining, along with:

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an industry-equivalent qualification
• High Risk Work Licences (highly desirable)
• Current Standard 11 and CBM, or willingness to obtain
• A valid Queensland Driver Licence
