Job summary

MacKellar is seeking experienced Production Operators to join our permanent team at Carmichael Mine in Queensland. You’ll operate a modern fleet on a well-established open-cut operation, working with an experienced crew focused on safety, reliability and production.

The role involves safely operating 400t+ excavators and large production dozers, completing pre-starts and reporting faults, with a 7/7 roster and FIFO from Townsville, Rockhampton or Cairns.

Qualifications

• 12+ months’ recent experience operating 400t+ excavators and/or large production dozers in open-cut mining
• Current RII competencies or verified site training transcripts issued within the past 5 years
• Current Standard 11
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• A strong commitment to safe operating practices
• A positive attitude and ability to work as part of a high-performing crew
• Ability to meet all site access and pre-employment requirements

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operating large-scale mining equipment
• Operate 400t+ excavators and large production dozers
• Complete pre-starts, equipment checks and housekeeping
• Report faults and work with Supervisors and other operators to keep production moving safely and efficiently

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for safely and efficiently operating large-scale mining equipment while helping the team achieve daily production targets.

You’ll be operating:

• 400t+ hydraulic excavators
• Large production dozers

You’ll also complete pre-starts, equipment checks and housekeeping, report faults and work closely with Supervisors and other operators to keep production moving safely and efficiently.
