Job summary

Sofitel Sydney Wentworth is seeking a dedicated Night Auditor to lead the overnight shift, ensuring a seamless operation and top-tier guest service. You will supervise the night team, manage front office functions, and handle sensitive financial controls with precision.

You will balance cash, oversee transactions, and resolve incidents with professionalism. Strong English communication and a calm, decisive approach are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience in front office or night audit in a hotel, preferably luxury.
• Confident knowledge of night audit, cash handling, credit control and banking.
• Proficiency with Opera PMS or similar property management system desirable.
• Experience leading a team overnight with limited senior support.
• Calm, professional approach to complaints and security incidents.
• Current NSW RSA and First Aid certificate (required).
• Excellent written and spoken English; a second language is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead the night: supervise Night Auditor and team across Front Office, lobby, portering and in-room dining, stepping in as senior voice in the Night Manager’s absence.
• Own the numbers: complete and oversee the night audit in Opera PMS, ensuring transactions are balanced and finalised on time.
• Make the tough calls: handle overbookings, security incidents, intoxicated guests and complaints with sound judgement and empathy.
• Be the face of the hotel after hours: maintain a visible lobby presence, greet guests, inspect public areas and back of house.
• Develop your team: brief, coach and train night staff and hand over operations to day management each morning.
