Job summary

Salter Brothers Hospitality is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead two boutique luxury hotels in the Hunter Valley. You will report to the Regional General Manager and guide Heads of Department to deliver outstanding guest experiences and strong commercial outcomes.

This hands-on role requires driving service standards, staff development and operational excellence across Rooms Division and F&B, with a focus on profitability and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Operations Manager or similar senior operational leadership role within luxury hospitality.
• Strong exposure to Rooms Division and Food & Beverage operations.
• Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
• Sound commercial acumen with labour costs, budgets and forecasting experience.
• Understanding of revenue optimisation and delivering commercial outcomes.
• Hands-on leadership style with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations across two Hunter Valley properties to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Provide hands-on leadership, coaching and support to Heads of Department and teams.
• Drive service standards, systems and procedures for continuous improvement.
• Support commercial objectives through labour management, cost control and forecasting.
• Monitor performance, analyse results and identify efficiency, satisfaction and profit opportunities.
• Ensure WHS, food safety, licensing and company policies are followed.
• Collaborate with the Regional General Manager on strategic initiatives and priorities.
• Build relationships with guests, local businesses and industry partners to enhance reputation.
