Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour is seeking a Commis Chef to join our luxury culinary team. You will work across diverse outlets and support the preparation, cooking and presentation of dishes to Sofitel standards.

As a Commis Chef, you’ll contribute to a clean, efficient kitchen, follow recipes and food safety procedures, and collaborate with a skilled team to deliver high-quality experiences for our guests.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation, cooking and presentation of dishes across our Culinary outlets.
• Complete daily mise en place and support your section during service.
• Follow recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised and service-ready workstation.
• Assist Chefs and Sous Chefs with daily kitchen operations.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, freshness and presentation.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and HACCP procedures at all times.
• Support stock rotation, storage and waste minimisation.
• Work efficiently during busy, high-volume service periods.
• Communicate positively with the wider Culinary team.
• Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries as required.
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
• Take every opportunity to learn new techniques and develop your culinary skills.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative and professional kitchen environment.
