Job summary

Blacktown City Council’s libraries help people learn, connect and access information. As a Library Technician – Customer Service, you present children's programs, assist customers to find resources, and help people use library technology.

This is a part-time role starting at 15 hours per week, including a regular Sunday shift, for up to 12 months. You will join a friendly team, process loans and returns, assist with circulation desk services, and support day-to-day library operations while

Blacktown City's libraries help people learn, connect and access information. As a Library Technician - Customer Service, you present children's programs that support early literacy, assist customers to find resources, answer enquiries and help people use library technology. You join new members, explain library services and digital platforms, process loans and returns, and support the day-to-day operation of library spaces.

Every day looks different. You might help a customer access eBooks and online resources, guide someone to study materials, or assist with circulation desk services. You work closely with colleagues to provide friendly, timely service and help customers get the most from their library membership.

Your work makes a difference to a diverse community of all ages and backgrounds. You help people access information, technology, study spaces, programs and collections that support learning, connection and lifelong discovery.
