Job summary

The City of Canterbury Bankstown is seeking a Library Officer to support day-to-day library operations and contribute to Aged and Disability services within the local government area.

You will deliver high-quality customer service, plan engaging programs, and support Home Library and Self-Select initiatives while engaging with diverse communities to improve access to library services.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Library and Information Science or equivalent.
• Working with Children Check.
• Strong commitment to delivering quality customer service in a cross-cultural environment.
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to balance priorities with minimal supervision.
• Experience in planning and delivering community library programs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality customer service in a welcoming library environment.
• Plan and deliver library programs and services for aged and disability community members.
• Support Home Library, Bus to the Library, and Self-Select programs.
• Provide information and referrals with other teams.
• Monitor community needs and develop programs, services and collections for diverse audiences.
• Assist in maintaining library collections and budgeting support.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and staff development.
• Promote WHS, EEO, diversity and ethics in service delivery.
• Complete administrative tasks including timesheets and leave records.
