The City of Canterbury Bankstown is seeking a motivated individual to develop, deliver, and promote a variety of community programs and events across our libraries. You will engage residents, design learning and recreational activities, and work with partners to meet local needs.

The City of Canterbury Bankstown is one of the largest Council’s in NSW with the most culturally, socially and economically diverse communities in Sydney. We deliver 28 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 385,000 residents.

The role

We are seeking a motivated individual to develop, deliver, and promote a variety of programs and events that cater to the informational and recreational needs of our community. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact through engaging initiatives that bring people together.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Develop innovative, community-focused programs and events that meet local needs.
• Coordinate and deliver programs and events across Bankstown Library and Council branch libraries.
• Build and maintain partnerships with Council departments, community organisations, businesses, and government and non-government agencies.
• Promote programs and events through Council websites, publications, and other communication channels, in collaboration with Corporate Communications.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on program outcomes and marketing effectiveness, while contributing to continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
• Coordinate volunteers, participate in team meetings and professional development, contribute to business planning, undertake rostered desk duties, and provide professional, customer-focused library services.

You will have

• Eligibility for membership of Australian Library and Information Association or qualifications and experience relevant to the duties stated.
• Working with Children Check
• Experience in the development, delivery and promotion of innovative library (or similar) programs and events, providing quality learning opportunities and recreational experiences.
• Proven ability to identify, evaluate and implement new programs and events.
• Demonstrated strong commitment to delivering quality customer service.
• Demonstrated high level communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal), including high level English skills.
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
• Experience in delivering programs and activities.
• Involvement in reviewing policies and procedures
• Proficiency in MS Office applications and online database management

The salary range for this opportunity starts at$74,692 (Grade D, Step1) + 12% super.Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
