Job summary

City of Canterbury Bankstown Council is seeking a Library and Aged/Disability services professional to support day-to-day library operations and develop inclusive programs for older adults and people with disabilities. The role focuses on delivering customer-focused service and engaging the community through targeted programs and outreach.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Library and Information Science enabling ALIA membership
• Working with Children Check
• Strong commitment to quality customer service in a cross-cultural environment
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to work independently and with the team, managing priorities

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality customer service in a welcoming library environment
• Plan, promote, and deliver programs for aged and disability communities
• Support Home Library, Bus to the Library, and Self-Select programs
• Provide information and referral services in collaboration with teams
• Monitor community needs and develop relevant services and collections
• Maintain and develop library collections to stay accessible and current
• Contribute to business plans and achieve team objectives within budget and timeframes
• Participate in continuous improvement and organisational change initiatives
• Attend staff meetings and professional development activities
• Promote WHS, EEO, cultural diversity and ethical standards in service delivery
• Complete administrative requirements like timesheets and leave applications
